The Target Trip

There were 35 of us. We were asked to do a promotion for Target in conjunction with the Westminster kennel Club show. Target uses the bull terrier in it's commercials /advertisements etc. They invited us to do the promotion because of that and they were also supporting bull terrier for best in breed/show. We as handlers, owners wanted to go promote our breed as the fun, loving dogs that they are. Bull Terriers get a bad rap and we wanted to allow people to meet them and enjoy them. We started our trip at Westminster Kennel club on opening day. We were greeters from 8 AM to 9. We then split into seven groups and were assigned different areas of NYC. We just walked around and talked to people, handed out little goody bags, got LOTS of pictures taken etc. Everything was paid for by Target. Our hotel (5 star hotel), spending per diem, dogs earned $ per day, clothing, dogs sweaters, collars, leashes. We had our own makeup artists, photographers etc. It was quite a hoot.
